We have a new Team Cary member. He arrived after a long day. We started out the morning of the 27th being admitted to the hospital to be induced. My water was broken and contractions started. I was fully dilated within a few hours and then got the epidural (which I highly recommend to any one). The doctor let the contractions work on getting Cooper to move down because he was still way high up. We had few scary moments when his heart rate dropped. After letting the contractions work for a while to get him to be lower the doctor decided to have me push. I tried pushing for a couple of hours but he wasn't making much progress because he was facing up instead of down towards my back. So the doctor tried to turn him but it didn't work. When it didn't work to turn him we were told that I would need to have a C-Section. I got wheeled down to the operating room and given some very strong medicines. Boy was I loopy for awhile. :) Next thing I knew Cooper had been born. He was born at 8:59 pm on Thursday 8/27/09 weighing 8lbs. 15oz. He is 20.5 inches long and has a 14.5 inch around head. After he was born the doctor said that even if had turned he still would have had to have been a C-Section because he was too big. He got his daddy's head and my hair. He was born with a full head of dark hair :). Here are some pictures of Cooper's day of arrival.

Being wheeled back to our room. I was still pretty loopy from all the drugs at this time but I was able to focus on my new baby boy.

The next few pictures are repeats of some of the photos above but I played around with editing them in Photoshop.
